Richard T. Petitt is an accomplished trial attorney with
experience in a broad spectrum of matters. Mr. Petitt's
experience includes eminent domain litigation, business/corporate
litigation, securities litigation, technology litigation,
construction litigation, real estate litigation, creditor's
rights litigation, employment litigation, product liability
defense, telecommunications litigation, and arbitration
before the American Arbitration Association.
Mr. Petitt's practice ranges from simple non-jury proceedings to the most complex commercial litigation. For example, Mr. Petitt successfully defended the General Electric Company against a breach of contract and theft of trade secrets claim involving alleged damages exceeding $45 million, and he obtained a $1.75 million verdict on General Electric's counterclaim. Finally, Mr. Petitt is a sixth generation Hillsborough County native and resides in Tampa with his wife, Amee, and their son, Tyler.
